5 follow-up scripts that reopen silent fans

The Message+ sequence editor in the LanaChat console

A fan who stops replying is rarely a lost fan. They had to go back to work, their phone died, they got distracted. The difference between a conversation that ends and one that picks up again is usually one well-timed message.

The goal of a follow-up is not to sell. It is to make replying easy. Here are five scripts we see work well, written in a neutral voice so you can adapt them to each creator.

1. The simple check-in

"Hey, you disappeared on me earlier 😊 everything ok?"

Short, warm, no pressure. It works because it sounds like a person, not a campaign. Send it a few hours after the last message, not a few minutes.

2. The callback

"I was thinking about what you said about [their topic]. Did you end up doing it?"

Bringing back something the fan shared shows that the creator listened. It is the most personal follow-up, and the one that most often restarts a real conversation.

3. The small exclusive

"I took something today that I have not shown anyone yet. Want to see it first?"

This one opens the door to a sale without naming a price. If the fan says yes, the next message can be the offer.

4. The question that needs an answer

"Quick question, I need your opinion: red or black tonight?"

People find it hard to ignore a direct question, especially a light one. It gives the fan an easy reason to reply in one word.

5. The soft goodbye

"I will stop bothering you 😅 but I am here if you want to talk later."

Used last, after the others got no answer. It is respectful, and it often brings a reply precisely because it takes the pressure away.

Timing matters as much as wording

Space your follow-ups out. A good rhythm is one the same day, one the next day, and one a few days later. More than that starts to feel like spam, and fans who feel chased tend to block.

Also avoid sending the exact same message to everyone. Fans compare notes more than you think, and a script that is obviously copied ruins the illusion of a personal chat.

Let the AI handle the rhythm

With LanaChat, the AI follows up with fans who go quiet, in the creator's voice and with the scripts your team wrote, adapting the wording to each conversation. When a fan replies, it picks up where they left off. Your team only steps in when it is worth it.
