AI chatter vs human chatters: what to automate first

An AI chatter is software that answers fans in a creator's voice and sells at the price you set. It does not replace your human chatters. The best split is simple: the AI takes volume, first replies and night hours, and your people take the fans who are worth a real conversation.
This article is for chatting agencies that already run a team, many coming from OnlyFans-style operations, and want to know what to hand to the AI first and what to keep human.
What does an AI chatter actually do?
In LanaChat, the AI answers every fan in the creator's voice and language, through the bot linked to her Telegram account. It does four jobs:
- Replies fast, at any hour. Fans write at night and on weekends. The AI answers within seconds.
- Sells at your price. It picks media from the creator's Vault and sends it at the price you set. It never gives a discount on its own.
- Follows up. The AI Brain decides what to send after a silence, after an unopened media, and how to answer objections.
- Stays inside limits. The persona holds the creator's boundaries: what she never says and never does.
All of this is described on the AI Brain page. Nothing the AI sends is hidden: every conversation is kept and readable by your team.
What are human chatters still better at?
Be honest about this, because it decides your margin and your reputation.
- High-value fans. A fan who spends a lot and wants attention deserves a person who knows him.
- Delicate moments. Distress, anger, a fan who asks for something the persona does not allow, a possible minor. The console warns you in these cases and a human should decide.
- Pricing exceptions. The AI cannot change a price. Only a person on your team can.
- Judgment on tone. A person notices when a joke would land badly.
An AI chatter is also not a way to deceive anyone. It writes in the creator's voice, your audiences must be adults, and you should never claim that fans cannot tell it is an AI.
What should you automate first?
Start with the work where speed matters more than depth.
- Night and weekend coverage. This is the easiest win. Nobody wants the 4 AM shift, and fans in other time zones write at that hour.
- First replies. The first answer sets the tone. The AI is there in seconds, in the fan's language.
- Follow-ups after silence. Chasing quiet fans is repetitive and easy to forget. See our piece on follow-up scripts for silent fans.
- Repetitive questions. Prices, what is in a set, how to unlock. Scripts and the AI Brain handle those.
Keep human, at least at first: your top spenders, any fan flagged by the console, and every conversation where you are testing a new offer.
How do humans and AI share a conversation?
In Live Convs, every conversation is live. Your team can read what the AI says, then press Take over manually. The AI pauses for that fan until you hand it back. Fans see typing on Telegram while you write, like any normal reply.
Some practical habits that work:
- Use the Follow up now block at the top of the list to see who to write to first: fans ready to buy, buyers who went quiet, top fans gone silent.
- Filter by Human, AI or Awaiting reply to see where attention is needed.
- Review the night's conversations in the morning, and take over the ones that matter.
- Hand a fan back to the AI when you are done, so it can keep the thread going.
Auto-translate helps here too. It shows each message in your language and sends your reply in the fan's, so a chatter does not need to speak every language.
See the Live Convs page for the full inbox.
How is it billed: AI sales vs manual sales?
Billing follows who sent the paid offer the fan unlocked. The commission is on net sales only, after Telegram's share and refunds.
- AI sales: 12% up to $30,000 of workspace net sales in the month, 10% from $30,000 to $100,000, 8% above.
- Manual sales (sent by a teammate from Live Convs): 4%, 3% and 2% on the same tiers.
On top of this there is a licence of $19 per Telegram account per month, with packs of 10 for $170, 25 for $375 and 50 for $650.
There is no per-seat fee. Adding a chatter does not change your LanaChat bill. Team and roles lets you add chatters, managers and custom roles, group them in branches and set each chatter's traffic share on a creator.
Which is cheaper, then?
The commission on a manual sale is lower. That is not the full picture. A human chatter is paid by you, outside LanaChat, and that cost does not appear in our price. The AI does not need a wage, and it covers hours you would otherwise have to staff.
A fair way to think about it: pay the AI rate where the AI does the work, and keep humans where their judgment brings in more than the rate difference. If a fan would have bought anyway from a quick, correct reply, the AI is the cheap option. If a fan needs a long, careful conversation to buy, a human may be worth the wage.
When is the AI not the right choice?
- A creator who wants every message to be personally hers.
- A new persona you have not tested yet. Test it in the Playground and watch the first conversations in Live Convs before you let it run alone.
- Any account where you cannot review conversations regularly.
For these, set the creator's response mode and keep the team in charge. Each creator can stay manual, and the AI can be switched off for any single conversation.

FAQ
Will an AI chatter replace my human chatters?
No, and it should not. It covers volume, nights and follow-ups. Your people handle high-value fans, delicate situations and price decisions.
Can the AI give discounts?
No. Media are sold at the price you set in the Vault or in the script. Only a person on your team can change a price.
Do I pay for each chatter?
No. LanaChat has no per-seat fee. You pay a licence per Telegram account and a commission on net sales.
Why is the manual rate lower than the AI rate?
Because a teammate did the selling work, not the AI. A sale sent by a teammate from Live Convs is billed at 4%, 3% or 2%, depending on your monthly tier.
