# What an AI Brain is

An AI Brain decides how your AI talks to fans. The creator's persona says **who** she is. The brain says **how** she chats and sells.

## What a brain contains

Open **AI Brain** in the sidebar and pick a brain. Its settings are split into tabs:

- **Sales tone**: how gently or how directly she sells.
- **KYC**: the questions she asks to get to know a fan, in order.
- **Scripts**: which scripts can start, when, and the offer rules around them.
- **Objections**: how she answers "too expensive", "not now" and the like.
- **Follow-ups**: what she sends after a silence or an unopened media.
- **Conversation**: the writing style and how naturally sales can open.
- **General**: lead agents and formatting rules.

On the right of the brain picker: **Active** or **Paused** (click it to switch; a paused brain doesn't reply to fans), **Default settings** or **Custom settings**, and **Try it**, which opens the [Playground](https://lanachat.ai/guides/playground/) with this brain.

## Defaults and your own settings

Each tab starts on the default settings and says "Following default settings". As soon as you change something, it says "Your custom settings". **Use default settings** puts the tab back.

## One brain, one creator

A brain belongs to one creator. All her Telegram accounts share it. To reuse a brain you like, duplicate it to another creator: see [Create and link a brain](https://lanachat.ai/guides/create-and-link-a-brain/).

Older brains marked with a lock are the **Default AI Brain**: they are read-only. Duplicate one to edit a copy.
