# Create and link a brain to a creator

A creator needs an AI Brain before she can go live. You can create a new one or reuse one you already set up.

## Create a new brain

1. Open **AI Brain** in the sidebar.
2. Press **+** at the top of the **AI Brains** list.
3. Give it a **Name** (up to 60 characters) and pick the **Creator**.
4. Press **Create AI Brain**.

The brain opens with default settings on every tab. You can start chatting with it right away in the Playground.

## Link an existing brain

If a brain has no creator yet, press **Link a creator** on it and choose her.

## Reuse a brain for another creator

Each AI Brain can only have one creator. To use the same settings for someone else:

1. Open the brain and its **…** menu.
2. Choose **Duplicate to another creator** and pick her.
3. If she already has a brain, LanaChat asks before replacing it (**Replace AI Brain**).

The copy is independent: changing one brain never changes the other.

## Rename or remove

Use **Rename** and **Remove** on the brain in the list.

> Warning: A creator without a brain cannot reply in the Playground, and the Setup card shows "Assign an AI Brain" again.
